The committee and members of the Friends of the Ochils were greatly saddened by the death, earlier this year, of John McKenna, of Auchterarder.
John was a founder member and an early committee member of the Friends. He did a great deal of valuable work in involving the Friends in issues on the north side of the Ochils.
John was a keen hillwalker and a dedicated teacher and, although he often suffered from severe ill health, he was constantly good humoured and had a wide circle of friends.
A deeply religious man, his requiem Mass was held in the church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Auchterarder.
Members of the Friends were in the packed congregation, and the committee extends its sincerest sympathy to John's widow, Laura, and to his family.
