Friends of the Ochils Newsletter 18: Spring 2001

FotO and the Data Protection Act 1998

The membership secretary and treasurer jointly hold a computer file of members' names, addresses, telephone numbers (where known), relevant interests (where known) and subscription payment details. This is held only for use by FotO in membership and financial administration. It is not shared with any third party for any purpose except for the annual financial audit. Any member can see the information held on them by applying to the membership secretary. FotO believes that this use of data (that is, solely for the internal purposes of a voluntary society) does not require formal registration under the Data Protection Act 1998.
