Friends of the Ochils Newsletter 19: Autumn 2001Species and habitat action plansThe Stirling Council Area Biodiversity Action Plan officer, Jonathan Willet, has produced summaries of species and habitat action plans written by members of the six habitat working groups formed in September 2000. While the summaries are published in booklet form, the comprehensive plans are available at local libraries and on the Stirling Council website: http://www.stirling.gov.uk/ The booklet contains details of organisations which can help with, and provide advice/information on, biodiversity projects in the Stirling council area. There are expected to be around 60 habitat and species action plans produced over the next three years. Each will include information on what is happening and what needs to be done to help both species and habitats. There is more elsewhere in this newsletter on the start of similar work in Clackmannanshire by that council's own new biodiversity officer, Lynn Campbell. David Robertson |
