Walks 2009

Following the successful series of walks led by Fenwick Worrell last year, further walks have been planned for summer 2009:

• Tuesday 30 June
Walk to Berry Hill (a post-medieval farm steading), Loch Whirr (ornithological site for wading birds) and Cairn Geddes (Bronze Age Burial Cairn and a Scheduled Ancient Monument) above Glenfarg.

• Wednesday 22 July
Walk to Ewlairfold on the slopes of Innerdownie above Glenquey, as recorded by Stobbie in 1783. A workshop will be held to log and record a 16th Century sheep milking fold and possible steading site.

• Wednesday 12 August
Walk to Menstrie Glen to look at the changing shape of Scottish agriculture from the post-medieval period to the present day.

All walks will commence at 7.00pm, and details regarding meeting points etc will be sent out to those who register an interest. Interested members are asked to get in touch with Stuart Dean: 01259 781 551 spdean@lineone.net
